Turrell Watershed Project Public Meeting

Date of Notice: June 19, 2026

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), along with the Arkansas Black Mayors Association (ABMA) and the City of Turrell as project sponsors, is proposing to fund the Turrell Watershed Project through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act, Public Law 566.

The project will address flood prevention and help reduce flood damages in the communities of Joiner, Turrell, and Gilmore, located in Crittenden, Mississippi, and Poinsett Counties, Arkansas.

NRCS will hold a public meeting as part of the Draft Watershed Plan–Environmental Assessment process. The meeting will provide information about the project and allow the public to ask questions and submit written comments.

The meeting will be held in an Open House format with display boards and materials showing the Preferred Alternative for watershed system improvements.
